Carrier Oils

Carrier Oils are a fatty oil with medium to thick viscosity, which does not need dilution. Also known as base oil or vegetable oil, although many are also pressed from seeds, nuts or kernels.

These oils are used to dilute essential oils, which then the skin will absorb more slowly. “carrying” the oil on to the skin. A carrier oil is a vital part of an aromatherapy massage to glide over the skin and also used in natural cosmetics.

Carrier oils contain components such as fat-soluble vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that improve the look and feel of the skin and hair by adding moisture, soothing irritation, and reducing the effects of dryness. So are actually very beneficial even on their own.

Depending on the desired result you are wishing to obtain as to what carrier oil/s you would use.
